Planning Meeting for 2013 Maine Permaculture Network Gathering

  • Aug 12, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • Claudia's House

Potluck dinner at 6:00 PM followed by planning meeting.

Orono will be hosting the 3rd Annual Maine Permaculture Network Gathering & Celebration on Saturday, 12/7/2013. Volunteers are needed to share the planning and logistics, develop the agenda and event design, etc.

We will be discussing what needs done when as well as looking at the possibility of coordinating this with a university event on Friday and/or additional activities on Sunday and optional overnight stays (sleeping space at Claudia's house, Terrell House, and possibly other locations).

My own focus has been the building of innovative structures, of many kinds. I'm glad to share knowledge and experience. Many creatives like me earn very little money, in the worldly matrix of off shore realities. (Perhaps you will appreciate that creatives are little hired in our times and that big-box merchandising saps income which used to go to small businesses.)

    Hi There,

I just want to share my accumulated knowledge of 43 years in the woods of Montville with my wife. She got us well on the way, with her masters degree from University of Pennsylvania, in Landscape Architecture... Actually she focused on old field succession, and fragrant perennials, way back then. So we started planting fruits and shrubs, here in Montville, in 1971, before the word 'permaculture' existed. We studied old ways and new ways and most of all our own "successional garden". This has to do with how desirable things grow over the decades, in this locality.
