How did you find this meetup?

What interests you about this group?

It's in Orono!

Do you have any sustainable/resilient living skills that you'd be interested in sharing? Any that you'd like to learn?

We've been developing a 2 ac property for the past four years which now includes 100's of edible/medicinal perennials, an intensively managed 2,000 sq. ft veggie garden, multiple vermicomposting bins, a solar greenhouse/ chicken coop, hoophouses, free range chickens, chicken tractors, two beehives, and the recent addition of a 15' x 55' greenhouse attached to south side of our home. I build custom vortex compost tea brewers from 5 to 110 gallons and use a homemade 5 gallon and a 35 gallon model to brew teas for our landscape using biodynamic inputs. I also currently work two days a week at the Urban Garden Center in Brewer, Maine. Together with my wife Heather, and along with our business, Omand's Organics, we plan to transition from our current location to a larger farm property in Aroostook county and apply broad scale biodynamic permaculture techniques to our farm organism with the intention that it become a place of community, inspiration, and learning for Maine's largest county.

I'm an avid gardener living and growing in Greenbush, ME. Along with my wife Heather we created Omand's Organics, we supply nutrient dense produce, free range eggs, custom compost tea brewers, and consulting.
