Gravity's Rainbow (Pynchon). The Zealator: an autobiographical exploration of mysticism & occult traditions. On the non-fiction side "The Clockwork Universe" by Edward Dolnick - about Isaac Newton and his contemporaries. "Gravity" seems to be this month's word - I also recently saw the movie of that name :). I have read the first chapter or two of "The Luminaries" and it's definitely on my list.
James Joyce's "Ulysses" and "Finnegans Wake" are a lifetime "project" for me. The Wake never ceases to reveal new depths.
Grew up in UK (Wembley, near London). Journalist for most of my working life (specialising in technology and associated business and political/societal matters). Now semi-retired. Mostly a non-fiction reader, looking to broaden my tastes.
Good, but we could do with more members turning up on the night. Though I don't know what we'd do if all 250 decided to come :)
