I know that when I'm in the area, I stop by Occupy Miami and collect signatures, register voters [the public library is right there and I turn in the voter registration forms immediately], if they are newly registered, those petitions get placed into a folder to turn in later. If you're in the area, stop by, it's all about our rights, freedoms, etc...

Not to discourage you - I have been active in voter registration drives in the past, even organized them on FL. State Univ. Campus when I was a student.

Just some facts all citizens need to know about voter registration and voter suppression which has gotten even worse.

I can't find the latest videos I came across a couple of weeks ago but right now, many voter registrations are being tossed out - they are targeting people in the following groups: young, people living under $40K, people without picture ID, people without driver's licenses, the disabled and people over 60. It also impacts college students - a student attending a TX Univ. from out of state could not get his TX ID with a picture for some reason thus when he went to vote he was denied even though he is a resident and currently living full time in TX. This is common in several other states as well. If I can find the video, I will post it.

Addl. Florida State legislature has still not complied with the Fair District Law passed by voters in 2008 (Amendments 5 & 6 by 63% of the voters). In fact, State Republicans, who control the legislature have spent more than 5 million dollars in taxpayer money to have the Florida State Supreme Court throw the law out, there has been no ruling and as of today, no redistricting maps have been submitted to the legislature that by the committee or representatives (this is based on the information I have at present, I am not 100% about that but that was the last I heard in Sept.).

I urge you to join the fight in FL here is the link: http://fairdistrictsn...

This has been going on for years - Diebold is behind the "curtain" pulling the levers.

This may be familiar to you - I have talked to Clint before he moved to CA after Tom Feeney and others seeking to silence him succeeded in keeping this story quiet.
After Clint testified before Congress about his job for Diebold nothing happened - no action was taken.

Correction: I've worked first hand on the redistricting (here in SoFLA) and it passed in the 2010 elections and has been blocked by Gov. Rick Scott since January 04, 2011 since he pulled the request for federal approval. In all fairness, Gov. Christ did submit the request.

According to the federal Voting Rights Act, the state of Florida is required to receive "pre-clearance" of changes to its election laws that affect minority rights. Link: http://articles.orlan...

A copy of the "Federal Judge's Order" is at the bottom and ruled 09 September 2011 in Miami. This is a victory for Fair District, fought well by those representing the will of the people.
