Dessert #6

Along with my quest to find the best yum cha in Adelaide, I'm on the lookout for the best dessert cafe/restaurant. Who doesn't like dessert!

No 6 is Eggless. 162 Goodwood Rd, Goodwood, ph: 82720777.

So if you want to have tea or a bite beforehand, go for it. Or just have dessert for tea!

Thanks everyone, I had a good time, feel free to tag yourself or your dessert in the pics attached. Quite liked the desserts with the hard task of not adding eggs and having GF options as well. Look out for some more dessert events in the future.

Thanks for organising it Donna and yes brilliant attendance :-) Just goes to show a polite reminder for a 'yes or no' attendance such as yours does the same trick rather than a curt one ;-)

I've decided to not go (with son or get a sitter) - I know you'll enjoy a wonderful night of egg free deserts without me better without having to talk about dragons to a crazy 8 y/o... have fun guys... damn..

My schedule for my son has changed (not my choice, but always one to work with the needs of the greater) - so I have my son for this weekend now - I'm trying to find a minder for a few hours, but I may have to pull out.. I was so looking forwards to this one - as I'm allergic to EGGS!!... Oh well... Donna - I'll give you plenty of warning...

If you can't find a baby sitter and no-one minds then you should bring him along, I'm sure he like dessert too.

Donna, I am one of the original members of this group and as such have learned a few things on the way. Firstly, NEVER EVER pay a deposit, expecting everyone to turn up. They won't: usually no more than two thirds show up. Secondly, waiting lists are a crock of S**T, they don't work -- better to just have people show up to the event -- first in first served. The overflow can either find a seat elsewhere in the venue or move on to another venue. Thirdly, a rigorous policy of cancelling membership of people who don't show up, but whose names remain on the 'attending list'. There is NO EXCUSE not to be able to change to 'no' within at least half day of the designated time.

Dear Donna, can you advise me then..if you have periods where you do not check email.. It's not assumed that you will come along unless you confirm attendance? If you simply remain mute and not respond at all it's it's not counted.. ? I will try to be vigilant and polite for sure.

Ken I'm unsure of what you are asking? If a person RSVPs yes they are coming to the event. If they are on the waitlist and someone from the YES list changes their RSVP to a NO, then the next in line goes from waitlist to a yes and will be notified as such via the automatic email system. So if you have RSVP'd YES you are coming to the event. My policy is that a person is a 'no show' they will be a 'no go' to the these events. I send out an email prior to the event to ensure people have my number if they can't find the venue or are running late, etc and to remind them that I will see them at the event.

Never believe anything anyone tells you. Get the information yourself, and then hope that its right, because there is a good chance its wrong!

Sounds like something the Dalai Lama would advise :)

I would still ditch the 'Waiting List' system, as it rewards the slackers while punishing those wishing to attend -- the 'waiters'.

Donna, I also have been 'burned financially' in paying deposits. I now require all attendees to buy their own tickets etc. I will not expose myself to the risks of being out of pocket. You're very kind-hearted indeed :)

Great. Sorry l couldn't come last night. I had been out all day and was too tired. :-)

  • Donna

For information anyone who is a no show at these dessert events without letting me know will be a no go in the future. Last event 8 out of 13 turned up and I had to pay a deposit to hold the booking. So if your not coming change your RSVP to no.
    Thanks

Sorry Donna, I am now a NO for this as hosting The Potbelleez Concert Event in the gig, festival & theatre lovers in Adelaide MeetUp Group which is the same night. Bon Apetite and I've just made a waiting list person very happy.

Someone told me that you can't make bookings at this place. As I haven't made a booking yet (cos is so far away) we will have to wait out on this one and see if I can get a booking or chance that we turn up and muscle our way for a table of 10-12 people.

You can book but you need a minimum of 6 that's why people think you can't book

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
