I and my friend had a wonderful time. There was so much to see and hear. Loved all the different musical styles and the traditional costumes. So many interesting stalls too. Rundle Mall was the perfect venue. Looking forward to the next one.

Very successful on all fronts: well organised, big turnout, entertaining performances and perfect weather - and I made a new friend, a Mexican soil scientist I started chatting to. He introduced me to his friends who own a Mexican restaurant in Mt Barker. He has the full charro/vaquero rig, and will be riding his horse in costume as part of the Mexican community's presence in next year's Australia Day Parade.

Also, I should add that South America and the Pacific Islands will be represented.

To summarise the program: Red Stage is at the Pulteney St end of Rundle Mall, Orange Stage isn't too far away, and Blue Stage is closer to King William St. Blue and Red Stages will be featuring mainly dance/drumming acts, and Orange mainly music. Having seen it in action, one act I would recommend is the South African choir on Blue Stage at 4.00pm; as you'd expect, marvellous harmonies.

I will be looking at the dance performances, not sure at which stage at a what time but I will be wearing a straw hat with green / yellow kangaroo flag on top, so if you see me, come and say hello.

BTW, I'm not sure what Priya is trying to say, but this event has no connection with Diwali. As I said, it's a MULTI-cultural festival, so many of the ethnic communities of SA will be represented, including those from Asia, Africa, and Europe.

I should add that, with a walk in the morning/early afternoon, and another event to attend, I won't be there for the whole show. I mainly put this up just to bring it to the group's attention.

Everyone its the Festival of Lights of the 3rd of Nov, better known as Diwali or Deepavalli. Lots will be happening at the Ganesha Hindu temple (Oaklands Park). Happy Deepavalli everyone! The light is within all of us.

When I checked the website (www.rundlemall.com) today there was no program, but one is promised, Richard.

I wonder if you have a link to a website that contains the program, etc
