“ Really enjoyed meeting everyone and listening to the discussion. I was sorry I had not had time between finding out about the group and coming to the meeting to actually read Rushdie's novel. hope to come regularly, and I will definitely have read the book before the next meeting! ”

“ It's great to find a bunch of cool, yet unpretentious folks who love to geek out about lit-rah-ture as much as I do. I love how this group can make seamless conversational segues from Virginia Woolf to Star Trek: The Next Generation to exploring the semiotic implications of the letter Q (and/or the musical Avenue). ”

“ These sessions are loose and open and free flowing. I thnk there are some great titles coming up. ”

“ Definitely the best case scenario for what I was expecting. An obviously smart group but with no hint of intellectual snobbery. It was my first meeting and everyone was really open and welcoming. Shy people: I have scouted it out for you, and it's okay! ”
— Elizabeth on Oct 6, 2011.
“ I had a great time at the first gathering! A small group of well-read and interesting people. We decided on: 1. the first book (Super Sad True Love Story) 2. general formatting (There will be two meetings a month, every other Tuesday at 7pm, and most books will get two meetings-worth of discussion.) 3. discussion leadership (Each book will have a different person leading discussion/providing background material, though everyone is welcome to prepare discussion questions or articles of their own) 4. literary genres (We are open to all sorts of good, challenging literature, but we are starting out with fiction in novel form, and seeing where things go from there) 5. size of the group (We'd like to keep things kinda small with about 8-12 core people. You, dear reader of this review, could be one of those people!) 5. feelings about books (Books are rad.) We still haven't decided on a permanent location, though finding a meeting room in local church was suggested. ”
