Women Leading Solutions on the Front lines of Climate Change

The Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN International) is honored to present ‘Women Leading Solutions on the Front Lines of Climate Change’, an extraordinary afternoon of women leaders joined in solidarity to speak out against activities and policies that threaten the Earth, our communities, and the very future of life as we know it. Presentations will highlight the role of women worldwide as innovators and agents of change, and will provide a platform for strengthening the network of women who are at the forefront of the transition to a just and sustainable future. Confirmed presenters include:

Jody Williams (Nobel Laureate)

Crystal Lameman (Beaver Lake Cree Nation; Treaty 6, Alberta, Canada; Sierra Club Canada)

Patricia Gualinga (Kichwa leader; Saryaku, Ecuador)

Casey Camp-Horinek (Ponca Nation; Actress; Indigenous Environmental Network)

Angelina Galiteva (100% Renewables Policy Institute)

Osprey Orielle Lake (Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network)

Sally Ranney (Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network)

WECAN International's newly released Women's Climate Action Agenda will also be shared and discussed at the event. The Agenda analyzes the root causes of environmental destruction and social injustice and presents powerful recommendations and alternative solutions to the climate crisis that leave no room for inaction as world leaders enter into negotiations this year. We will gather immediately following the event for a Wall of Women action (wecaninternational.org/climate-march-2014-gallery).

This event is free and open to the public, however, due to security in this part of the city registration is required. To register and print your invitation, please visit : wecaninternational.org/pages/registration-women-leading-solutions
