Gary I was looking forward to go, but not at $78 round trip. I figured that plus other expenses while there is more than I want to spend at the moment. (I was just there last week for other events).

Carlos. You saved my butt!! Although I picked round trip when I ordered my tickets it only gave me a ticket to Chicago. It is $78. If you go I will provide you with a map of things to do if you have never been to Chicago. I am going to spend a few bucks up there. Art Institute tickets are $18 and I would like to go on a Chicago boat skyline tour. Also I may use taxis. I plan to just sit some time during the day and shoot street people. If you decide to drop out that is ok. Otherwise see you.

I have checked the link you provided and everytime I try the round trip ends up costing me $76.00 I dont see a way how to get the roundtrip fare for $40.00

This trip is going on with one or 100 people. May as well join up. There is a lot to shoot in Chicago. I have been there a couple of times and cant wait to go back.

I am a member of the Peoria Camera Club and have invited any in my who want to ride along to come also. We can get seats together. There are many places to shoot within walking distance of Union Station. Ill see if I can come up with a map of sites. I really would like to try street photography. But it is a big city and there is
Millenium Park, Grant Park, Pritzkers Place, Buckingham Fountain and the Chicago Art Institute (Admission price) all within walking distance.

I am going to Chicago on June 30 on Amtrak from the station in Normal for a day of shooting. This is rain or shine. You Are welcome to come along if you wish. Although I am not planning an itinerary or keeping a list of attendees I would be delighted to have you or anyone you know go with me. We depart Normal at 7:31 AM and arrive at Union Station at 10 AM. We depart Union Station at 7 PM and arrive back at Normal at 9:14 PM. The cost of a round trip ticket is $34 and may be purchased in advance

Train fare to Chicago is ridiculously cheap. Like $35 round trip. We dont even need an itinerary. There is so much to shoot in Chicago within walking distance of Union Station you could accidentally trip your shutter and get a keeper. There is street photography and architecture, The Buckingham fountain, Grant Park, Chicago Art Institute and on and on. Trains leave Normal Illinois early in the morning and depart to Normal at 5-6 PM.

I think a couple people in our group are members in some Chicago photography meetup groups, I wonder if they would be able to meet us up there and show us some good hidden spots! Train ride would be cool to do, would just have to figure a plan for transportation once we're there.

Even a day trip is doable. Train fare is minimal from Normal. WE could catch a early morning train and iI beleieve one departs Union Station at about 5-7 PM.

I'm definitely interested, let us know when a date gets worked out. A Saturday would obviously be the best, at least for me. I'd love to hit downtown during the day and shoot some of the nightlife later on.
