Universalist Unitarian sermon on atheism

This was suggested by one of our members. I think it will be an interesting topic and may be good for a discussion group later on.

"Hello, if anyone is interested in visiting the Universalist Unitarian Church of Peoria, this Sunday may be a good time. The sermon is "Atheist Spirituality- Is atheist spirituality an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp? Or could it work in some paradoxical way? Let’s explore how one might live a spiritual life, or something very similar, without any deities. Many Unitarian Universalists seem to be on this path. Why not?"

The service is at 10:30 at 3000 W. Richwoods Blvd. There is coffee afterwards. If this group would like its own table reserved for discussion, I could arrange that. I hope this isn't seen as proselytizing! That's not my intention. I'm new to this group, so I'm not sure if there is any interest in this topic, but thought I would mention it in case.

    Hello Fellow Humanists,

I'm glad some of you liked that great sermon and I thank those who attended. I think dogmas destroy human creativity and freedom to choose liberates it. And thank you, Mary, for posting it. Along the same line, I plan to give a talk on "Good without God" in the UU church this summer. I shall let you know as soon as the date is finalized. --MB

This sounds like EXACTLY what I've been waiting for, unfortunately I have to work on Sunday... Is there some other way they I can access the information discussed during this sermon?

I can't attend, but I hope someone posts a recap on the discussion board. I'm interested in how they will frame atheist issues.
