Queen of the Sun: Movie & Discussion

The Watchung Environmental Commission is delighted to announce that Julie Jurusz, a member of the NJ Beekeepers Association, will share her beekeeping experiences at the showing of the documentary entitled “Queen of the Sun.”

Julie will provide suggestions on ways to protect our own backyard pollinators so that we, as individuals, can participate in working towards a renewed culture in balance with nature during the post-film discussion.

About the Film: “Queen of the Sun”

What are the bees telling us? This film is a profound, alternative look at the global bee crisis which is one, if left unresolved, could well develop into a food shortage of major proportions. Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists, environmentalists, and philosophers from around the world as they face this issue.
