Monthly Membership Meeting

  • February 12, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • Urban Roots Farm

Our meetups vary from group discussions to short education sessions to hands-on learning experiences. The first Wednesday of each month is our group meeting where we brainstorm and consolidate our plans for the next few months. These meetings also include short info sessions on the 12 Permaculture principles and an introduction to the work bee session on the following Saturday. These meetings are held from 6-7:30 pm at the Urban Roots Farm, 3001 West 4th Street, Reno, NV.  Starting in January 2014, we expect to be expanding education component.

The Workbees are our monthly hands-on events, and rotate locations. These are planned out ahead of time and we request that you attend the meeting if possible to bring yourself up to speed about the coming workbee. Of course you can attend these even if you can't come to the meetings. As a third monthly event, we host a 3 hour training on the third Saturday of the month, where we look at individual topics in Permaculture more in depth. These sessions are donation based and some sample topics are water harvesting, methods of design in Permaculture, and climate contexts and landscape profiles in Permaculture.

Great to see many new and friendly faces. I'm excited to get to know everyone better at our upcoming events. This month's activities focus on our interconnectedness to the water cycle. Thankfully we're being blessed with some rain and snow right now.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
