Kalamazoo Farm Wellness Day and a 5K at Lake Village Homestead Meetup

This event is in Kalamazoo. It is free if you don't want to join the race. If you'd like to come, I think it'd be a good idea to arrange carpools. If you want to stay in Kalamazoo all day you can ride with us. We are going to Bells for the Crane Wives show afterward and will probably stay until the show ends. I'd be happy to help you arrange ride shares.

The event, farmwellnessday5k.org on May 17th will be a fun opportunity for people interested in permaculture, sustainable farming, homesteading, community living and see unique housing construction projects. Let me know, Thanks, Tony

    Permaculture in action:
    Briefly:
Lake Village which was started by Professor Roger Ulrich and his colleagues at WMU as a B.F. Skinner Walden Two type experiment in 1971. Lake Village has evolved into a year round working farm and agrarian educational center demonstrating how sustainable agriculture supports community. The farm also serves as an intentional farm community nature preserve where anyone choosing to live on the farm or become a member can obtain healthy food as well as learn to live more in balance with each other and the earth that sustains us all. The Farm Wellness Day and 5K will be a great opportunity to tour the land, meet the animals and residents and see how Lake Village has evolved over the years. Looking forward to seeing you out here May 17th.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
