I would like to increase my inventory. I lost my Oak connections and need Oak shavings and chips desperately. So as soon as I get my hands on some any and all are more than welcome to look over my shoulder and pick my brain. What I enjoy more than mushrooms. Sharing what I know. Thanks

I will rent one or just buy one. I have gone so long without having to get one but it seems to me that a chainsaw is a pretty important piece of equipment. Anyway that's great lets set something up.

There are oak trees cut down all over riverside. All you have to do is drive around and collect.

I agree with cerridwyn1st. I have a 2 year old tomato plant with green tomatoes- I do cut it back hard each spring since it will get a bit scruffy looking. I have a 3 year old tabago pepper and a 3 year old datel pepper - both with green peppers now. I am saving some seeds though in case they reach whatever their real lifespan is. Has anyone reached it yet? I could share the seeds but cann't garrentee they grow. Mine sprouted this spring but failed thrive. Then again the ones I bought did the same so I think it was an environmental issue.

And I have been considering trying shiitakes. I have never tried mushrooms. It is encouraging that someone has succeded here.

I'm bringing eggs to swap and maybe some shiitakes, home fermented ginger ale and bee stuff. I'm also inviting the Jacksonville Like Minded Swappers. Check them out on fb. The next swap is in July. Speaking of perennials, my bell peppers have gone perennial!

Propperly cared for peppers and tomatoes can live for years. Actally a lot of plants are only annuals if they freeze. Maybe we should have a topic on Mythical Annuals. Or maybe it is all a plot to keep us buying plants.
