Home Garden QUICK START the permaculture way -workshop/Potluck

  • June 8, 2013 · 9:00 AM
  • Permaculture Food Forest at Sunowa Springs

Come learn how to install your own low maintenance, nutrition focused gardens at home!

9AM SHARP we begin the outside part of the workshop.  We will go over composting, hügelkultur, fruit tree guilds and layered gardens.

Get a tour of a 6 month old food forest.  Meet the horses.

12 noon INSIDE we will have lunch.  Please bring something that is organic.  If you cannot bring ORGANIC (or 100% grown in your own organic gardens), we will have food available.  We will have salsa and pita chips, black beans and rice, an amazing soup, fresh salad and other fixins.  All of it mouthwatering, organic and prepared by our very own Debbie Erdmann.  Debbie helped to open 4 local restaurants that are still operating.  You'll enjoy her food.  A suggested $7 donation for adults and $5 for kids.  Please RSVP to this email address so that we can be sure to have enough for everyone.

Organic produce is available for sale on site as well as some permaculture grown green beans.

After lunch we will sit down and watch a presentation that will attempt to explain everything that we did during the morning and why.  We'll go over how to plant it, harvest it, how to evolve it forward and how to make it better without watering and fertilizing.

Kids welcome!  Please just bring the kids, don't count them as guests on the RSVP below.

Please CARPOOL if you can do it.  Limited parking space.

Leave your email and receive an e-handout on everything we talked about.  Take notes too so that you can get the most out of the moment.

We look forward to seeing you!

It was great to have you both Karla and Connie. You can ask as many questions as you'd like here, or my preferred venue on Permaculture Jax in Facebook. Hope to see you soon!

HA! I just went back an read this for some reason and I noticed that I called you Karla! This was a mistake, but there's an old inside joke in my family with my aunt Carla. She always gets called Carl! Might have been a subconscious slip! No offense meant!

I have to say 'no' to this event. I'm just too far behind with all the rain this week. I'll be in the food pantry garden tomorrow.... Hoping the abundant rain didn't hurt the harvest.

I'll be coming in from Starke if anyone is on the way.
