Folk music can be meditative and timeless in how it can draw on the past and also allow for new influences with every new generation. There is a folk revival happening at the moment with many younger musicians playing with older musicians which is an aim of the Perth Folk and Roots Club, getting that interaction and appreciation happening as a musical community.
I play acoustic guitar and sing as assortment of originals and favourite covers.
I am a performer in the John McNair and Keith Anthonisz Duet at the Perth Folk and Roots Club and we also both set up the stage including a PA, microphones and lights and mix artists who perform at the Club.
I have been songwriting over many years and have also been involved in presenting Folk and Roots Songwriting Workshops with the Western Australian Folk Federation.
I am the President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club as well as a singer songwriter and guitarist and I am passionate about a community involvement in folk and roots music.
Good wholesome music and a great atmosphere.
