ROBINSON BOOK CLUB (Special Tuesday Meeting) SUMMER IN TUSCANY- Elizabeth Adler

To celebrate Italy we are meeting at Bravo for dinner or dessert and to discuss Elizabeth Adler's Summer in Tuscany.  Thanks to Aunt Janet for suggesting the author as she is traveling to Italy next month.  The author also has many other destination books including Sailing to Capri, Invitation to Provence and From Barcelona with Love - that all sound great!  Looking forward to couch potato traveling to Tuscany with this book.

BOOK DESCRIPTION: Gemma Jericho is a New York emergency room doctor with a handful of a teenage daughter and a mother who worries that Gemma has no life. So when her mother receives a mysterious letter telling her about an even more mysterious inheritance in Tuscany, Gemma sees her chance: Grandma, Gemma and her daughter throw caution to the wind and leave for Italy. Gemma hopes to bring back the closeness she used to share with her daughter and stop her mother from butting into her social life.  The beauty and rich culture of Tuscany form a wonderfully romantic and compelling backdrop for this delightful novel.

They find in Italy a crumbling villa, a rival heir, culture clash, gossip and intrigue  and Gemma is caught up in the most disturbing and delicious trouble she's ever had. And her summer in Tuscany will change her outlook-and her life-forever.

Sorry for the late sign up. I keep getting interrupted trying to finish reading "Summer in Tuscany," but I expect to finish today or tomorrow. One of my favorite movies is "Under the Tuscan Sun," so I am enjoying this book as well. I also will eventually read the other two that Aunt Janet suggested -- "That Summer in Sicily" and "Light in the Ruins." I saw the play "Light in the Piazza several years ago." Now I wish I were going on the Italy trip with Aunt Janet and her group. And I do love Italian food. See you soon at Bravos.

Was hoping you would pick one of the two I suggested and already have. At any rate I already have Pirate game plans for that evening.
