I'm interested in forming a new book discussion group and was wondering if you would be willing to post it so that your members would become aware of it?
Drue Heinz Lecture Series - Monthly Book Discussion
Monday, November 18, 2013, 7 PM
Carnegie Public Library, Allegheny Branch
1230 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA
If you enjoy the Drue Heinz Lecture Series, hearing authors speak about their work or just reading in general, please join us for a monthly book discussion. Each month we will meet to discuss a book by one of the authors featured in the series.
At the inaugural meeting we will discuss Amy Tan’s Bonesetter’s Daughter. A compelling tale of family relationships; it layers and stirs themes of secrets, ambiguous meanings, cultural complexity and self-identity; and it resonates with metaphor and symbol.
Members will have an opportunity to select which book of the next speaker they would like to read. If you can't make the first meeting but are interested in participating, feel free to email your book suggestion.
If you are not familiar with the Drue Heinz Lecture Series, check out their web site:
The series is an opportunity to experience memorable Literary Evenings with ten of the world's finest authors as they offer personal insights about their writing and explore the universal themes of literature from the podium at the historic Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.
