As many of you know, I have committed to biking in the MS150: Escape to the Lake (Erie). I can't believe it is time already!!! I have been training hard for the past two months to do this ride from just north of Pittsburgh across to Lake Erie in Ohio. It is by far the biggest physical challenge I have ever taken on and would love to have your support!!
I signed up for this ride to participate in my corporate sponsored charity. I didn't think I even knew anyone with the disease, but wanted to help in an abstract way. Once I started training and telling people about what I was doing, I actually learned that one of my girlfriends was recently diagnosed but was cautious about telling people. It now seems personal and is scary to me how prevalent MS really is!! And hearing her story of how much is still unknown about MS and all of the horrible tests she had to go through before finally being diagnosed really made me want to help.
Since then, I have learned of another young woman, my cousin's college roommate, that was also recently diagnosed! Such a terrible thing for women so young!
The point of the ride is to raise money for the cause and many people mentioned that they would like to contribute so I wanted to send the link out to everyone. Any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with MS. It is very easy to make a tax deductible donation! Just click on the link below to go to my personal page and enter an amount online!!
Thanks for all of your support!!
