Pittsburgh Chapter of AUVSI hosting a social hour at CBW

The Pgh Chapter of AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) is having a social hour at Church Brew Works August 27th, 2012 at 5:30pm. The meeting is to encourage robotics people, or those interested in promoting robotics in the Pittsburgh area to socialize.

They said they'd love to have some of the other folks from Pgh Tech attend if we're free. Last month they did a whiskey sampling at a micro-distillery in the strip and everyone had a great time.

Looks like another good way to meet tech people in the 'burgh, so I'd encourage you to attend if you can!

Church Brew Works Sampling/Tour August 27th at 5:30pm

Cost is $12.50 for 7 samples (each 5 oz.), tour and bar snacks.

A brew master will provide a tour and take questions for about 30 minutes. Following the tour, the brew master will guide us through a tasting of the various beers and take more questions. After this, we are free to hang out as long as we like. Happy hour is until 6:30, appetizers/food will be discounted during this time.

RSVP to [masked] is requested, but not required.

Great networking the Pittsburgh robotics community. Maybe if it wasn't the first Monday of classes we'd have had more of CMU (and other people who find Mondays a hard night to go out) turn out. But still there were about a dozen people there, including on there explicitly to recruit. We need to do this more often!
