RE: [Pgh-Tech] First Meetup in the Books

Hi Robert,

I know of several people who are into telecom services and consulting who are on the group, and I suspect others will join as we go forward. I am excited by the turnout of the initial event (I hear TechCrunch only drow 9 people) and the current level of membership of 45, having only existed for less than 2 months and having had only 1 event.

Hopefully you’ll make it to the next event!

Best,

Istvan

Greetings Pgh Technologists,

The first meeting is in the books. We had 17 people RSVP and 16 show—that is a success!

What happened: For the first half hour we simply conversed about topics of our mutual interests. We started the round of introductions thereafter and in the last half an hour we discussed the vision, format and organization for the group and future events. We decided that a formal event with about an hour of scheduled programming followed by networking and drinks at a nearby pub would be great to have quarterly. In between we would have two events with face-to-face discussions, where attendance may be lower. Six people volunteered to contribute in various ways, as listed below; they will be added as event organizers of the group.

Marta DePaul: PR

Nick Pinkston: Venue

Kariithi Kilemi: Speakers

Rocky Medure: Collaboration IT

Arthur Tu: Website

Istvan Jonyer: Demos & Scheduling

Our next event is scheduled for August 4th (location TBD); mark your calendars.

Best,

Istvan
