This is one of those rare "I need to email the whole group" times. A few bullets for you on what the plans are for 2012 and how you can get involved in the Pittsburgh Technology Meetup. Thanks to all who came out for our Startup Career Fair and all the 2011 meetups - it's been great to see so many new faces and help build the community for entrepreneurship in the 'burgh.
- Looking for a host for the December casual meetup - you'd need to get a location (coffee shop or Panera would be fine) and attend. A great chance to meet new members and try your hand at hosting!
Looking for hosts for casual meetups in 2012. If you'd be willing to plan a casual meetup, email me at [address removed] with the month(s) you'd be willing to host. Again, casual coffee shop/Panera meetup - though you're welcome to get more in-depth in planning if you'd like!
- Seeking those interested in helping with formal meetups. This includes finding venues, picking up food, contacting/coordinating speakers or other entertainment (pitch contest, hack fest, or just about anything). You won't be flying blind, I'll help brainstorm ideas and ensure you get the resources and connections you need in Pittsburgh to make it happen. Another wonderful chance to network and learn more about what Pittsburgh has to offer!
- Seeking help for 2012 Startup Career Fair(s)! The first event was a fantastic success, with 29 companies and nearly 200 attendees. We'd like to expand this to include more companies, more speakers, and more attendees for a Fall career fair in 2012 (and potentially a Spring!).
To offer your help in any of these areas, please email me at [address removed]. You'll meet lots of great people, serve the Pittsburgh startup community, and certainly be visible as a leader in driving entrepreneurship and tech forward in the region.
