In conjunction with its new exhibit, "Through the Looking Lens" which showcases the watercolors of Cornelius Varley, a British inventor and artist, the American Philosophical Society Museum hosts "Look, Draw, Make: Exhibition Open House" on Thursday, June 6.

The free reception includes -

  • Curator-led tours of the Exhibit
  • 3D printing demo and interactive projects from modern-day inventors
  • Drawing Room opening with optical drawing instruments and hands-on activities
  • Wine, food and music

Our Meetup group has a reservation for 12 guests at the open house. BECAUSE WE HAVE LIMITED SPACE, PLEASE ONLY RSVP IF YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND. If you are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the RSVP list to make room for other guests.

Might be a few minutes late. Probably arrive there around 5:40 p.m. unless my schedule clears up this afternoon. Sounds like a fun event.

Hello friends! I'm very, very sorry to do this, but would anyone be willing to host tomorrow evening's meetup? I have to take my dog to the vet for an x-ray (he may have broken his leg), and I don't think I'll be able to make it to the city in time after his appointment.

If no one is interested in hosting, please feel free to attend the open house anyway and check it out! I look forward to seeing you all at a later event.

Are we going to stay together as a group, or just scatter and do whatever? What's the normal protocol?

We generally try to stay as a group so that we can all socialize and get to know each other better - part of the fun of Meetup is meeting new friends. If you'd prefer to do your own thing, though, that's fine as well - just let me know when you arrive so that I don't mark you down as a "no-show".
