The books and tapes are wonderful and it is always uplifting to discuss what I am learning with others who are similarly focused. When I listen to what others are experiencing, I am constantly reminded that everyone perceives what they hear in a different way and I come away from the meetup with another perspective. Large groups provide more perspectives; smaller groups allow time for more detailed discussions.
