THE FOURTH CONCERT ON OUR $10 PER CONCERT EXCURSION INTO THE PHILADELPHIA CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY SERIES!
Friends, here's some meaty literature for string quartet:
Haydn: Quartet in F Minor, Op. 20, No. 5
Schumann: Quartet in A Major, Op. 41, No. 3
Mendelssohn: Quartet in F Minor, Op. 80
This is a dynamic and very popular quartet. From the PCMS website: "Mastery, elegance, density, complicity, spirit, are words that regularly come back about Quatuor Ebène, now among the most sought after quartets worldwide."

Folks, I always love Haydn, can't get enough. This quartet dates from 1772 in his "Sturm and Drang" period. You'll find it quite dramatic. The Schumann I've always wanted to get to know better, and the Mendelssohn is a staple of quartet literature. See you there!
Almost forgot, welcome to join me in a post concert libation!
