I hope to find fellow gays who share my faith. I find that most gay people are either unchurched or have been so hurt by the church that they have no interest in religion, while religion is a HUGE party of my life.
Once or twice a month.
I joined the Roman Catholic seminary straight out of High School. Coming to terms with my sexuality was not easy in that situation. I left midway through my junior year and completed my education in a less restrictive but still very conservative Catholic environment. Sometime after graduation, I started seriously questioning my strict adherence to the Church. I was received into the Anglican Communion in 2005, but I never ceased being a Catholic. The Roman Catholic Church is not the only Catholic church. I still sometimes attend worship at R.C. Churches, but I feel freer, having come to an understanding of the universality (catholicism) of the Church in its various forms. As a gay man, I am blessed to be in a parish where my gayness is not an issue (if it were, the church would be in trouble, because gay and lesbians do a lot of important work there, including the priestly functions).
Trader Joe's trail mix (my favorite is the one with the macadamias and ginger).
I am a Catholic. I believe in traditional belief and worship without traditional hate and bigotry. I am a very active member of Saint Mark's Church at 17/Locust.
