October Groovy and Grails meeting

We'll be doing two shorter talks for this meeting:

Grails Web Flow by Bob Rodini

This talk is an introduction to Grails web flows explaining how to build them, and how they benefit your grails application.  A grails web flow is based on the Spring framework web flow.  However, in the grails tradition, there is far less code to write and convention wins over configuration.

5 jQuery plugins for your Grails app by Jason Gritman

This talk will cover the basics of jQuery (now the default JavaScript framework in Grails 2.0) and will demonstrate how to integrate some popular jQuery plugins into a Grails application quickly.  The plugins covered will be the Validation plugin for forms, dynamic tables with DataTables, trees with dynatree, calendars with FullCalendar, and history management with BBQ.

We'll have food at 6 and start the presentations at 6:30.  I hope to see everyone there!

That was a great meeting. Lots of good information on how to integrate jQuery plugins, and that resource scanner/minifier in Grails 2.0 looks good. Looking forward to getting cozy with the sample code. Good intro by Bob Rodini on Web Flow in Grails as well.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
