Selah Lynch & Mark Sherretta - Wharton (project)

Angular for Immersive Learning

I'd like to share the experience of creating "Startup Game", an in-classroom learning activity that will soon be offered to MBA programs throughout the country through Harvard Business Publishing. We created a single page application using AngularJS and domain specific backend called Forio Simulate.

Tim Griesser - A core Backbone.js maintainer

Relational Databases in JavaScript, with Bookshelf.js

I'd like to talk about two new libraries I've written: Knex.js and Bookshelf.js,and how they help can make Node.js just as practical for building traditional model-heavy applications as more established frameworks like Rails & Django. I'll also show how transactions can be great in taming async programming in javascript, and how it's possible(and convenient) to re-use the same underlying model code on both the client and server.

Love to attend, but there are already 2 other User Group meetings that night. Java and Android. I picked the one that is close to home. I much prefer the western Philly suburbs. Downtown Philly is too far, especially at rush hour.

I'm not going to be able to make it - we've got a big testing session scheduled for tomorrow and Wednesday. Hopefully I'll see you next month!
