Project Night & Lightning Talks with Special Guests from the Refresh Road Trip

  • May 21, 2014 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

May's Project Night will be hosted by RJ Metrics!

*Please RSVP with your real name, we need to provide a list to building security!*

RJMetrics will be providing pizza for the event.

We also have special guests this night from the Refresh Road Trip!

Come work on your projects with lots of other cool JavaScript developers! We'll kick off the night with lightning talks to get us warmed up before open project time. Lightning talks are SHORT (~5minute) talks about a project you've done, a problem you solved, a quick demo, etc. During open project hours, we'll have a "Beginner's Corner" and more experienced developers can volunteer to help level up those new to our community.

If you'd like to do a lightning talk, the topics should obviously surround JavaScript, but are flexible. For example, you could talk about something new you heard about and want to learn more, you could talk about a seemingly insurmountable problem you need to figure out, or you could talk about some cool thing you did and just want to share.

If you'd like to talk, add yourself to the lineup, or comment on the meetup, send us a message, or mention @phillyjsdev on Twitter.

Doors open at 5:30pm, Refresh talks start at 6:15, with lightning talks following. We need to head out around 8pm, but we can head down to Bru to have a few drinks afterwards!

Bru (located at 1316 Chestnut) has been nice enough to extend a happy hour to our group following the meetup! Please join us there afterwards to enjoy the following specials: $4 German & Local Drafts, $5 Well Liquor, $5 house wine, $4 Bavarian Pretzels, $5 Wurst Sandwich and $5 frankfurters. Yay!

To get to the 15th floor, head into the building and go to the middle set of elevators. You may have to sign in and get a visitor's tag.

So it turns out our fire drill is cancelled! (hooray!) We're leaving this time at doors 5:30, but no speaking will start until 6:15/6:20, so don't let the early time scare you away!

I'm in the same boat as AJ. Can't make it there from King of Prussia in time. I76 rush hour traffic is a nightmare.

Sorry, coming from the burbs, the whole time change throws a wrench in my attendance

We understand! It's a venue thing; we might be forced to end early for a fire drill, so we want to get in as much as we can beforehand.
