DESCRIPTION: This 230-acre oasis of woods and meadows, in the suburbs of eastern Abington Township, attracts visitors to its natural beauty year-round. There are hiking paths among the wooded hills and a stream. Also, a 1.8 mile level section of the former Fox Chase-Newtown rail line has been converted to a recreational trail. This crushed stone path provides level hiking and biking, and views of the creek valley along the entire western edge of the park. The park also connects to the uppermost section of the Pennypack Trail. Wear boots as there may be mud in some of the low lying areas. Bring water and asnack. Refreshments at end of hike. Rain or snow cancels.

DIRECTIONS: 183 Moredon Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA. From Rt. 63 (Welsh Road) and Rt. 232 (HuntingdonPike) in Huntingdon Valley, drive south on Huntingdon Pike, pass Holy Redeemer Hospital on your right make a left at the nextlight on Moredon Road. Drive approximately 1.0 mi. and Lorimer Park upper parking lot will be on your right, where we’ll meet.
