March Meetup: WordPress Multisite

Join us for our March WordPress Meetup on Tuesday, March 20th at 7pm.  The meetup will take place at the: Colket Translational Research Building (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia research campus).

Meetup Topic:  WordPress Multisite

Presenter:  Brad Williams (@williamsba)

WordPress Multisite is a powerful feature available in the core WordPress software.  Enabling and configuring this feature converts your WordPress site into a Network, allowing you to launch multiple WordPress sites in a single install of WordPress.

This presentation will cover all sorts of Multisite topics including:

  • What is Multisite?
  • Enabling and Configuring Multisite
  • Understanding Plugins and Themes
  • Working with Users in a Network
  • Managing a Multisite Network
  • and much more!

There will also be plenty of time for questions at the end of the presentation.

Tickets for this event cost $5. All money collected will be used for food, giveaways, and future Meetups.

Very informative meeting. I really enjoyed it. However, I never received the email with the link to the deck as was promised. Where can I get that?

Brad did a great job! I expect this presentation to be well-received at WordCamp San Diego, especially with the tweaks the audience suggested. Some beginners were "overwhelmed;" it may have helped if it was clear on the invite that this topic is somewhat "advanced." (But still extremely useful and "doable" for almost every Wordpress enthusiast who supports the Meetup.) Also, an overview of terms such as "network" would help. Brad acknowledged both of these issues.

Very detailed presentation by Brad Williams. I will definitely need the slides to refer to later if I want to implement WP multisite. Good to get a basic understanding of how to get started with multisite. Surprised to hear that even for a client with as few as 2 sites, multisite has a use. Thanks for getting pizza for dinner. Organized and ready to start on time. Handled Q & A smoothly.

I'm looking for a Freelance WP Developer to help complete the back end and several templates for a new website that's already been designed.

The backend requires some customization to help us manage products, but it's not complicated stuff. A shopping cart is not necessary at this stage. Also, several pages of the site require Featured posts pulled from the blog.

Please let me know here or at Tuesday's event if you?re interested (experienced developers only, no amateurs).

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
