Delaware River Kayaking

Directions to Saturday's adventure have been emailed to registered participants.  Please contact me (Dawn) if you, for some reason, did not receive the emails.

If you are interested in participating in the kayaking trip on the 30th, please register and pay by Friday, June 22, 2012.  (If your name is not typed below, you are not confirmed for this trip.)  Happy Paddling!

Start off your summer paddling season with a 9 mile river run down the Delaware.

We will meet in Frenchtown, NJ, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, where kayaks will be loaded onto a transport vehicle, and we will be transported up river to Riegelsville.

We then will paddle from Riegelsville to Frenchtown. The trip includes about 3 hours of paddling. We will break for lunch at one of the river islands.

We will hope for high water! Irrespective of the water volume, we will have a great time on the always fun and scenic Delaware River.

This event is open to kayakers of all levels. All participants must be able to swim. This 9 mile stretch of the Delaware is calm and easy going with some small rapids here and there, but no white water.

You should dress with the understanding that you will get wet--unlikely soaked, unless you misjudge the buoyancy of your kayak. We recommend that you wear quick drying shorts and shirt, swimsuit, and closed water shoes or sneakers (no sandals or barefeet). If you are particularly susceptible to chill, you should pack a rain jacket or wind breaker.

Price: $54.00, includes boat, paddle, life preserver, and transportation. (If you wish to use your own equipment, the fee is $29.00.  Please contact me if you will be bringing your own boat and gear.)

The address and directions of the meet-up location will be provided only to registered participants. We are limited to 16 participants. An RSVP through the Meetup site does not reserve your spot. To register, you must go to our website, And visit the event page here and click on "register."

I would have given it a 5, but it was too short. :-) People were awesome, Dawn runs a tight ship (made sure everyone was accounted for, had food and drinks for everyone). Weather was hot, but river was gorgeous! Would love to go on a longer paddle there.

Hi Paul- For this trip, we'll all be traveling together with the boats to the put-in location. As far as the lesson goes, I will explain briefly about kayaking, but will not be giving a formal kayaking lesson. Dawn

What if we want to do our own shuttle and not use the outfitter? Also if first time kayakers are going are you going to give them basic lessons on how to kayak?

You should bring lunch/snacks as well as water. We'll be meeting in Frenchtown rather early on Saturday, and there are not a lot of options at that hour.

Excellent. If you use your own boat, the fee to participate is $29. You'll have to reserve your space on the terramar site.

We will meet in Frenchtown, NJ. From Frenchtown we will be tranported by the kayaking outfit up river to Riegelsville. The trip does not include transportation from Philadelphia.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
