Registration now is closed for the Kayaking trip. If you are dying to go, please contact me and I will see if arrangements cannot be made for you. The directions have been sent to all participants. If for some reason, the directions did not reach you, please contact me. See you Saturday!!
Last call.....registration for Saturday's trip closes today. I reserved a couple extra spaces, but will release the extra boats today.
For those of you who have registered, you earlier should have received an email from me with the directions and necessary information. If, for some reason, you did not receive the email, please contact me.
If you haven't done so already, please register if you wish to join us on the river Kayaking trip. I reserved a few extra spots and will keep the registration open until Thursday, August 2. Hope to see you on the river!!
We are headed back out to onto the Delaware for a 20 mile kayaking adventure.
We will meet in Frenchtown, NJ, at 8:30 a.m. on August 4, 2012, where kayaks will be loaded onto a transport vehicle, and we will be transported up river to Easton.
We then will paddle from Easton to Frenchtown. This is an all day journey. The trip requires about 5 hours of paddling. We will break periodically, including for lunch at one of the river islands.
Given the length of the trip, some paddling experience is helpful. This event is open to kayakers of all levels, but you should be physically fit and able to paddle for the full day. Once we start in Easton, you are committed to paddling down river to Frenchtown.
This 20 mile stretch of the Delaware is calm and easy going with some small rapids here and there.
You should dress with the understanding that you will get wet--unlikely soaked, unless you misjudge the buoyancy of your kayak. We recommend that you wear quick drying shorts and shirt, swimsuit, and closed water shoes or sneakers (no sandals or barefeet).
Price: $54.00, includes boat, paddle, life preserver, and transportation. (If you wish to use your own equipment, the fee is $29.00.)
The address and directions of the meet-up location will be provided only to registered participants. We are limited to 12 participants. An RSVP through the Meetup site does not reserve your spot. To register, you must go to our website, http://www.terramaradventures.com. And visit the event page here and click on "register."
