Vango SkyLounge Summer Soiree

Greetings everyone:

With the summer upon us, and my Rueda practice being shifted to Wed evenings, I've decided to host a weekly evening of cocktails and dancing on Monday nights at Vango Sky Lounge & Bar. So here is the deal. Everyone is responsible for paying for their own drinks and food.We will be meeting on the main floor between 8:00-9:15 p.m. to socialize with one another. At 9:15 p.m. you can take advantage of the free lesson, which will either be salsa, merinue or bachata. THAT'S RIGHT ... FREE LESSON!!! There is also no cover charge to get into the establishment. Once the lesson is over, practice what you've learned, as well as continue to drink & socialize. See you there. Nuff said

-Fourth, less is more when navigating Latin rhythms. Keep you steps small. The bigger the step, the harder it is to get back to your starting position
-Fifth, men lead with their left whether it is stepping or turning a girl during the lesson. Ladies will step back on their right foot
-Sixth, ladies you have to let the man drive. I know its hard, but for those 2-3 minutes we are the ones leading you around the floor, not the other way around
-Seventh, men DO NOT MESS UP THE ALDIES HAIR, NAILS, etc. They deserve as smooth a ride as you can give them for the 2-3 minutes of the song, to the best of your ability.

Nice to see some new faces and I look forward to greeting you all in person. Just a few quick tips which I am breaking into 2 segments: - IF as you come up the stairs, there is a security person/bouncer on duty, he will be asking for id and he will be checking your bags to makes sure there are no bottles of water, juice, etc. in them. Also access to outdoor deck on second level is possible after the lesson, but you must purchase a drink first.
-Second is that as long as there is no ripped clothing, you will have no problems in regards to dress code
-Third, everyone should wear comfortable heels, flats, sneakers, etc. that you can turn/spin in on the floor during the lesson

    See you all tonight.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
