Well everything we do doesn't have to be educational or altruistic, there has to be time for fun too!
The original Photo League organized this type of fun activity often, and I thought we could emulate them in this regard.
We all do it – pass by the same awesome thing everyday and think, “Someday I’m gonna take a picture of that!”
It’s time to admit that our “Someday” list is growing and growing, Jack and the Beanstalk style (no end in sight!).
Here's how it works...
All participants will be assigned to a number of teams. Theses teams will each receive identical "shoot lists" that detail fun and unusual things to photograph. Each item on the list will be assigned a point value (based upon difficulty). You will then be sent out into our fair city, in search of capturing as many challenges on the list that you can, in a three hour time frame. No cars, foot travel or public transit only!
At the conclusion of the three hours, all teams will meet back at the Field House, where we will project all the images and tally up the scores.
Prizes will be awarded for highest point totals - along with special consideration for specific challenges. Food and drink will be available during this post event.
This is destined to become an annual event, taking place at the beginning of April - when we all surely will be suffering form "cabin fever" and eager to get out on the streets.
If you are interested, RSVP - and then keep an eye on this meetup for details as they progress.
