Subject: [art-216] Under new management

 Greetings fellow art lovers,

As someone who is passionate about art, I was saddened to see an organization dedicated to art lovers face termination. Especially a group as old as this and with such a large membership. Some of you may know me from my Meetup Group "Landscape Painting Philadelphia" A Meetup group organized for Plein Air painters in Phila. and the surrounding areas. For those of you who don't know me, here's a quick rundown. I'm 59, I live in Brookhaven Pa., and I've been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. I went to PAFA in the early 70's and again in the early 80's. I've also attended classes and workshops at Fleisher, and still occasionally attend drawing and painting workshops. I'm an active artist, drawing, painting and dealing with galleries on a regular basis. I also have an interest in art history, art auctions and collecting. Hopefully I can move this organization in a positive direction.

Agreeing to co-chair with me is fellow artist and Phila. Art Meetup group member Joe Faith. Joe attended Tyler, PAFA and PCA. Joe is also the organizer of the Meetup group "Delco Art Critique" An active and always lively group of artists who meet once a month to critique each others paintings, drawings, sculpture and other creations involving the visual arts.

Last, but certainly not least is co-chair Don Brewer. Don studied multimedia at the University of the Arts, and has experience running workshops on the use of social media to promote one's career as an artist. Don is also the creator of "DonArtNews", one of Philadelphia's most popular Art Blogs. If you aren't familiar with it, you certainly should be.

As a result of this new leadership, you will not only recieve emails to events such as gallery openings, art auctions and museum outings, you will also be invited to join us at our plein air painting outings, our critiques, and our workshops.

I'm looking forward to meeting and making new friends, and to promoting the Art's in our great city.
