July Meetup- Brave New World

Come join us for a discussion of:

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

We will meet at Red Hook Coffee & Tea (4th St between Fitzwater & Catharine), with some beverages compliments of the book club.

We will be wrapped up by 8:30pm.

At the end of our discussion we will vote on the book for September's meetup. The choices will be posted once they have been selected.

June's meetup info can be found here.

Note - ***please avoid No-Shows*** -- do your best to not take up a Yes spot unless you are sure you can be there - we generally have a full house! If your RSVP changes, please update it on the site accordingly. Finishing the book is ideal but not a requirement, as we often juggle a lot in the day-to-day! We do, however, appreciate attendees attempting to complete the book, as it makes for a fuller discussion. Our talks as well as our book choices are always quite varied and enriching. :)

If you need to reach me via cell, it is[masked] - texting is preferred. Happy reading! See you there!

Jonathan, your joke was severely under-appreciated! Great group, weird book, and thanks also Jonathan for the kind offer of drinks.

Hello all -- Lucky me, I get to suggest three books for our August discussion. I figured I'd tell you what they are now so you can see if any one of them strikes your fancy. They are: Geek Love (Katherine Dunn) -- carnival family saga; The Leftovers (Tom Perrotta) -- different take on Christian "Left Behind" books; Lost Memory of Skin (Russell Banks) -- about a sex offender living under a bridge. Sorry for the odd spacing. HTML-challenged, I am.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
