When did you learn that you were a content strategist?

I first heard the term at Dubai Media City during the Military Public Affairs Conference in 2005 - but I've been doing the work since 1997.

What content strategists do you admire most?

I have taken some inspiration from people who "hold the title" - Kristina Halvorson, Richard Sheffield, Brett Atwood, and the like. However my interest in content strategy comes out of my experience in photojournalism. Stacy Pearsall, Nic Raven, Chris Jordan, Martin Fuchs - these are people who have to tell a huge story or evoke strong emotion using limited space. More than that - the way these individuals like these practice the art of Meta has been a driving factor in the way I've developed CMSs and structured governance rules for over a decade.

Tell us a content strategy that inspired you—

Most recently - the content strategy used for Charity Water Greg Hoy presented during the Design Challenges for Non Profits panel during Philly Tech Week

I'd love to develop a content strategy for: a) Phillies, b) Free Library, c) Tastykake, d) other
