Hey PN&D Pals,
The New Year arrives and our first event of 2014 will be at The Twisted Tail (formerly Kildare's) on 509 South 2nd Street in Philadelphia's Headhouse Square district. Local rock station 102.9 WMGK House Band from[masked] FINALY VINYL will be performing The Roots of Rocking Blues" from 9pm to 1am. This band plays a lot of Classic Rock that 'MGK airs.
On January 4th, FINAL VINYL will be performing 2 sets featuring the music that influenced and inspired the great blues rock bands of the 60's and early 70's. The mix of material will include songs in styles ranging from Chicago/Texas Blues (Steppenwolf/ZZ TOP) to Vintage Rock n' Roll to Classic British and American Blues-Rock w/ many great bands represented. Songs from Freddie King, Albert King (no relation), Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, and Carl Perkins were inspired for The Rolling Stones, Cream, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, and Led Zeppelin. Not a traditional blues band, they come at the music the way most bands we grew up with - adding a rock sound to the music we love. This is a band worth seeing. I've seen them perform. FYI, visit their homepage at http://www.finalvinylband.com and view some of their shows.
The only special available for Saturday night is a 4 Course Dinner for $35. It includes a appetizer, charcoal grilled item, entrée, and dessert. For more menu information, visit http://www.thetwistedtail.com/twisted-tail-dinner-menu.pdf
