I went to the website to try and find more out about this Anime Room, but nothing is listed. I even used their search bar to search "Anime" and nothing came up. can I find out about this Anime Room?

It's a good time, but I guess it depends on your definition of a big deal. I guess your better off waiting on the schedule.

Hi there :-) One of the heads of the Anime Track here! As Bob mentioned, the full convention schedule hasn't been posted yet (but should be soon), so that is why there aren't more explicit details about the track on the website. Although there is a mention of the Anime Track on the homepage under the list of "Ten Things to Enjoy at Philcon", so I wouldn't say it was a case of not being worth mentioning :-) If you are familiar with Zenkaikon at all, several staff from there (including myself) are also staff on the Anime Track at Philcon. The Anime Track is in a dedicated room throughout the weekend, and will be running programming during the entire con (Fri ~4pm-2am, Sat 9am-2am, Sun 9am-3pm). To whet people's appetite until the schedule is released, we've also posted a preview on the Zenkaikon site of some of the Anime Track programming: Feel free to check that out and see if anything piques your interest!

I'm definitely trying to hit this up!

Anyone been there before? I'm trying to get a better vibe of what to expect.

Yup, been going for a few years now. I staff the anime track, actually. It's a very low-key, laid back kind of con. I've even heard it referred to as a "Lobby-con" because of all of the people gathering and talking in the lobby. It's a generally older crowd, although they seem to be making efforts to change that (like the recent addition of the anime track!)

Didn't mean to hit send yet- one thing i meant to add was that it was, in fact, the first sci-fi con ever. It's been going since 1936.

Monique, we do, but I have been lazy about organizing things recently. And nobody else has stepped up to do it either.

Hi everyone, I just joined the group! Do you ever have meetups closer to center city Philadelphia?
