Library Comic Con

The public library in Woodbury and no, there won't be any walkers there,  is planning its very own Comic Con for Saturday, May 3,  where they will have local vendors, games, prizes, people in costume and a free comic book to everyone who comes.

Scheduled to run from 10 a.m. until 1:15 p.m., the “Library Comic Con” will also feature an appearance from South Jersey comic book writer Tony DiGerolamo, best known for his work on The Simpsons and Bart Simpson comic books beginning in 2002. He has also published his own comic books — Jersey Devil, The Travelers and The Fix.

DiGerolamo will host a panel discussion entitled “Webcomics: The future of the comic book medium,” scheduled for 12:45 p.m.

Vendors at the mini-convention will include Frankenstein Comics and Tiki Tiki Board Games/Island Officials video games — both based in Woodbury — as well as The Comic Book Store, in Glassboro.

Those who attend in costume will receive a prize from the library.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
