I can't think of a secret place here, but El Rinconcito Cubano in Chicago was a great place my cousin and I use to split meals and Half Shell for Crab Legs (in Chicago).
Tangerine WAS, but the whole private party thing took me for a loop when I returned. Don't like all of the changing chefs either. Love N. 3rd for the Pierogi and specials.
I can't think of any. Someone would have to ask me if I tried it for me to know if I have not. I'll try anything once.
Moroccan, some French, some Cuban...I like dishes over cuisine type since I am not suppose to eat certain foods and combinations. I love escargot, but don't care for crepes for example.
Recently returned to Philly after two years in Chicago, but originally from Michigan. Many of the places I loved changed (private parties only at Tangerine) and new places to explore.
