Before we get into the events scheduled for September, I wanted to take the time to address an issue that has been occurring quite frequently within the last few months. We have had a good amount of either no-shows or people cancelling at the last minute. When people cancel at the last minute or don’t show up, I can’t fill those seats. It’s a hardship for the restaurant because those are seats that they could have filled with another reservation. We are going through a really rough economic time right now and restaurants are scrambling to get business. It’s not right to leave them hanging like that. I’m working very hard to establish relationships with these restaurants and no shows could affect future events that we want to hold at that restaurant
So, in light of this, from now on, I will be keeping a list of no-shows and people who cancel at the last minute. ( I do understand when work commitments come up, however, please call me to let me know. I give out my cell phone number in an email before each event). If you are one of those people, at my discretion, I could potentially bump members from the attendance list in favor of those on the waiting list who do honor their commitments to the group. We may be a social group, but a commitment is a commitment and I take that very seriously.
I look forward to many more successful events with this group and I look forward to meeting those who I have not yet had the chance to meet. This email does not apply to everyone, but I want to make sure that we all on the same page going forward. Have a great holiday weekend!
