Are atheists thankful on Thanksgiving?

Place:
Beaverton Activities Center
(inside, go to the "Small Community Room"):
12500 SW Allen Blvd., Beaverton, OR
Google map: http://tinyurl.com/mzzj7y3

Note:
This is different from the Beaverton Community Center where we've met before.  This is different, being instead the Activities Center, which is where the old Beaverton Library used to be located.  Please click on the Google map link above to be sure you go to the right place.  We use both of these buildings, according to availability.

Event details: We will discuss this very short article:
"Godless Thanksgiving: Do Atheists Have Anyone to Thank? Thanksgiving is Not a Christian or a Religious Holiday" written by Austin Cline.
http://atheism.about.com/od/religiousholidays/tp/GodlessThanksgivingAtheists.htm

Excerpt:
"... it must be shown that giving thanks to God is unnecessary, or senseless, or that there are others to whom we can give thanks to, or preferably all three. ... Giving Thanks to Farmers ... Giving Thanks to Soldiers and Veterans ... Giving Thanks to Doctors and Modern Medicine ... Giving Thanks to Engineers and Modern Technology ... Giving Thanks to Science and Scientists ... Giving Thanks to Friends and Family."

I can't come to the feast afterall, with too much going on at once. Winter.. Good times, but soon.

Sorry, I have to work that day... not enough time after work to go freshen up at home in Scappoose and go back to the west side of town. My Ironworking job is very physically demanding and leaves me completely exhausted after work.
