What We See and What We Seem (joint event with London Borough of Ealing)

This is a joint event between Philosophy for All and the London Borough of Ealing, at Pitzhanger Manor. This is at the eastern end of Mattock Lane, London W5, near Ealing Broadway station.

At the event, you will be able to discuss with philosophers, psychologists, and other scientists, whether the world is as it seems to us, what can go wrong in our perceptions, and how we should think about our relationship to the world. There will be additional activities, in which you will be able to explore ideas for yourself.

The event is linked to two exhibitions at Pitzhanger Manor, one on photography and one on Alice in Wonderland.

You must book by e-mail for this event. Please put "Philosophy Salon" in the subject line, and e-mail:

[masked]

(Please note that saying "Yes" on this Meetup page does not constitute a booking. Also, if you are looking at this page without logging in to Meetup, the e-mail address will be masked. Please log in to see the address.)

There is a £3 charge, payable on the door. This is reduced to £2 for people who pay the annual subscription for membership of Philosophy for All.

My first MeetUp - very well organised, excellent speakers and some very thought provoking discussions. Looking forward to the next one!

Sadly, had to work late so unable to make it.
Too late to change my RSVP here but fortunately I'd left my registration with Ealing council to the last minute so at least they weren't expecting me.

Sorry to miss it, this looks like a fantastic event - right up my street - and I hope there will be more that I can attend in the future.

I would like to remind everyone who is coming to the event at Pitzhanger Manor on 5 December that you must book your place with Ealing Adult Learning, at the e-mail address given in the description of the event on Meetup.

I expect that most people will have already done so, but if you have not, please do so straightaway. Clicking "yes" on the Meetup site does not book you a place.

We have to ask you to book with Ealing Adult Learning, because they have publicized the event themselves, so people will book without going via Meetup.

    Thanks very much.

I will be coming but my daughter Angel may be coming with me.

That's fine, Bernard. If you could mention both yourself and your daughter when you e-mail Ealing to book your place (see the event description above), that would be helpful.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
