Plato's Republic

It has been said that Western philosophy is a series of footnotes to Plato.
In this talk we will explore Plato's most distinguished work: The Republic.
We will consider the structure of the book, the main characters of its dialogues, some of the stories and the myths that are told.
Particular attention will be given to the importance for our life of what Plato taught twentyfour centuries ago.

'Philosophy and Life' is a series of talks on the history of philosophy and its relevance for our daily life. It is aimed at a general public.

Sharna, this is not an academic talk. Even absolute beginners should enjoy it.
