When Nietzsche Wept

Experimental session. You should be able to find us in the venue by looking for the homemade ‘Philosophy in Pubs’ sign on the table; I’ll be wearing my brimmed hat, as always, to aid recognition. If all else fails, the ever-helpful bar staff are sure to point you in the right direction.

Hello Latoya, You'll find an extended biography of Nietzche - his life, philosophy and publications - on Wikipedia. Here is the address to reach it:
    Hope you'll find it helpful.

Hi Latoya, no prior knowledge is assumed, as always with Pips. I sent out some blurb about maths before the last meeting merely to encourage non-mathematicians to come along, but knowledge was not assumed in the session. Not sure how much we'll focus on Nietzsche in the session, but if you know nothing about his thought that's no problem. The great thing about philosophy is that you should be able to convince anyone of the truth of a sound argument, thought or truth - it's not like science, where evidence is required. This is the first session that we've done where we haven't had a specific question to focus on as such, so is 'experimental' and we're not quite sure where the conversations will lead! The opaque title's there so we don't get too focused in on one particular question too soon. Hope that all makes sense! :)

Hi! Is there any background info for this chat I could read before coming?
