The power of Speech

Speech is taken for granted in our everyday lives. It is often abused, undervalued or even mistrusted.

It's not as bad as it seems. These symbols of our world called words allow us to explore it and to build a wonderful system of understanding that we call human knowledge.

We have built this up over the millennia from those giants of thought such a Socrates, Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, etc. We  cannot, however, stand on the shoulders of giants unless the giants can communicate their understandings.

Communication is thus a fundamental tool of unity between people. We can speak of the most profound experiences and even what it is to exist. We can link with others in such a deep way that unshakable friendships arise.

What is this thing we call speech and what heights can it reach?

See you there.

What a pity I have missed it! Is anyone interested in joining the speaking club I belong to? I love it and it has helped me develop so many valuable skills in communication and leadership. Please check it - http://www.angliatoastmasters.co.uk/ If you need any more information feel free to contact me. Our next meeting is on the 1st of September (Monday) and starts at 6:45pm. It's free to attend.
