What is it? A group of like-minded people meeting to talk about life, the universe and everything.
What happens? Together, we’ll come up with a topic to discuss based on a stimulus e.g. a picture, news story or object and then we’ll discuss it. You don’t have to be well read, and you are welcome to sit back and enjoy the debate if you don’t want to join in.
It’s all about enquiry and the 4 Cs: Caring - being sensitive and charitable towards others’ ideas; Collaboration - Working together to get closer to
some sort of ‘truth’; Creative- new ideas and ways of looking at things welcome; Critical- challenging what we think and being open to new ideas.
The plan for the evening is:
About half an hour of ice-breakers and philosophy games to get warmed up.
Decide on a Philosophical question to discuss as a group.
Discuss the question and see where it takes us.
We'll finish the 'organised' stuff at about 10 PM, but, of course, you are very welcome to stay and chat and enjoy the lovely atmosphere in the Queen's Head!
