This group is for everyone curious about science, philosophy of science, and critical thinking, regardless of previous knowledge.

"The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking," wrote Albert Einstein. What then do both scientific practice and sound everyday thinking have essentially in common? Why does natural selection make more sense than divine creation? Why assume that people have hallucinations rather than encounters with extraterrestrial visitors? In other words, what constitutes the scientific method of theory choice?

Richard P. Feynman gives a first hint at the answer and adresses the most widespread misconception about science in this video. Importantly, the scientific method requires an attitude of sound skepticism, about which Feynman talks here.

A great resource for logic and philosophy of science is the Critical Thinker Academy.
